Pets Sanctuary is a fully remote nonprofit rescue organisation. Our team works from everywhere, united by one purpose: giving every animal a second chance.
Work That Matters
At Pets Sanctuary, there is no commute, no headquarters, and no corner office. There is only the work, and the work changes lives. Every member of our remote team plays a direct role in rescuing animals, supporting our 500+ partner shelters, coordinating veterinary care, and helping animals find the loving homes they deserve.
We are a small, passionate, and highly collaborative team. We hire people who are self-directed, deeply empathetic, and motivated by mission over convenience. If that sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.

TELEHEALTH COORDINATOR
Veterinary & Care Operations
NOW HIRING
Location
Remote, United States
Employment Type
Full-time
Salary Range
$70,000 to $100,000
Coordinate telehealth appointments between our foster families, adopters, and our network of 200+ veterinary partners to ensure every animal in our care receives timely, consistent, and compassionate follow-up.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Pets Sanctuary operates without a physical shelter. Our animals live with foster families and partner shelters across the country, which means veterinary follow-up, health check-ins, and post-adoption care all happen remotely. The Telehealth Coordinator is the human bridge between our animals, their caregivers, and our veterinary partners.
This is a deeply meaningful role. You will be the person that a worried foster parent calls at 9pm when their newly rescued dog won't eat. You will be the one who schedules the video consultation that catches a health issue before it becomes a crisis. You will be the reason an animal thrives in their new home rather than being returned.
We are looking for someone who is organised, warm, and genuinely passionate about animal welfare. Someone who can manage a busy schedule of virtual appointments while also being the calm, reassuring voice that fosters, adopters, and vet partners rely on.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Telehealth Scheduling & Coordination:
Schedule and manage virtual veterinary appointments between foster families, adopters, and our 200+ vetted veterinary partners across the country
Maintain a clear and organised appointment calendar using our remote coordination tools
Send appointment reminders and preparation guides to all parties ahead of each consultation
Follow up after every appointment to confirm outcomes, next steps, and any follow-up care needed
Foster & Adopter Support:
Serve as the first point of contact for foster families and adopters who have health or welfare concerns about animals in their care
Triage incoming welfare concerns and escalate urgent cases to the appropriate veterinary partner immediately
Conduct regular scheduled check-in calls or video calls with foster families to monitor animal wellbeing
Maintain detailed, accurate records of every animal's health history, appointments, and care notes
Veterinary Partner Liaison:
Build and maintain strong working relationships with our network of veterinary partners
Coordinate with vet partners to ensure capacity, availability, and consistent quality of telehealth consultations
Communicate any patterns, recurring issues, or concerns from the field back to our Partner Liaison and Rehabilitation teams
Rehabilitation Programme Support:
Work alongside our Rehabilitation Specialists to schedule wellness check-ins for animals currently in our rehabilitation programme
Flag behavioral or physical concerns observed during check-ins to the relevant specialist for follow-up
Reporting & Administration:
Maintain up-to-date animal health records in our case management system
Produce weekly summaries of appointment activity, outstanding follow-ups, and animal welfare flags for the Director of Veterinary & Care Operations
Contribute to ongoing improvement of our telehealth coordination processes and tools
REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a veterinary, animal welfare, healthcare coordination, or telehealth scheduling role
Exceptional organisational skills. You are the kind of person who never lets something fall through the cracks
Strong written and verbal communication skills. You will be talking to worried pet owners, busy vets, and everything in between
Confident and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment
Proficiency with digital scheduling tools, video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet), and cloud-based case management or CRM systems
Genuine passion for animal welfare. This is not just a coordination job, it is a care role
Reliable high-speed internet connection and a quiet, professional home working environment
Desirable:
Veterinary nursing, veterinary technician, or animal care qualification
Experience working with rescue animals, foster networks, or shelter management systems
Familiarity with telehealth platforms used in veterinary settings
Experience working across multiple time zones in a remote team
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary: $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience
100% remote position. Work from anywhere in the world
Flexible working hours, with core availability required during agreed time windows for scheduling

Employment Type
Full-time
Salary Range
$50,000 to $70,000
Create compelling content, manage our social media presence across all platforms, and tell the stories of our rescued animals to grow our community, drive adoptions, and support donation campaigns.
ABOUT THIS ROLE
Pets Sanctuary exists because people care. Our social media presence is how we find those people, move them, and turn that emotion into action, whether that means adopting an animal, making a donation, sharing a story, or becoming a foster family. The Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator is the person who makes all of that happen every single day.
This is a hands-on, creative, and deeply meaningful role. You will be responsible for managing and growing our presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, creating original content that brings our rescue mission to life, and running campaigns that directly drive adoptions and donations. You will work fully remotely and collaborate directly with our founding leadership team, which means your ideas will be heard, your work will matter, and you will see the real-world impact of everything you create.
We are looking for someone who is not just good at social media but who genuinely loves animals and understands how to tell stories that make people stop scrolling and feel something. If that is you, we want to hear from you.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation and Publishing:
Create, edit, and publish engaging content across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram on a consistent daily and weekly schedule
Develop a mix of content formats including photos of rescued animals, adoption spotlights, success stories, behind the scenes posts, donor appreciation content, educational animal welfare posts, and campaign announcements
Write compelling captions, headlines, and calls to action that are warm, human, and true to the Pets Sanctuary brand voice
Source and edit photos and short videos of animals available for adoption and fostering, coordinating with our partner shelter network to obtain visual assets remotely
Adoption and Fostering Campaigns:
Create dedicated social media content for animals ready for adoption or fostering, including profile posts, featured animal spotlights, and urgent appeal content for animals who have been waiting the longest
Monitor and respond to adoption and fostering enquiries received through social media and direct interested followers to the correct application process
Track which animals have been featured and follow up with success story content once they find their forever homes
Donation Campaigns:
Plan and execute social media fundraising campaigns including annual giving campaigns, emergency fundraising appeals, and awareness campaigns tied to national animal welfare dates and events
Create emotionally compelling campaign content that clearly communicates the impact of donations on the animals we rescue
Monitor campaign performance and adjust content strategy based on engagement and conversion data
Community Management:
Monitor all Pets Sanctuary social media accounts daily and respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely, warm, and on-brand manner
Build genuine relationships with our online community of followers, donors, fosters, and adopters
Identify and engage with animal welfare advocates, rescue organizations, and potential partners online to grow our network and visibility
Brand Consistency:
Ensure all content published across every platform is consistent with the Pets Sanctuary brand voice, visual identity, and mission
Maintain a content calendar to plan posts in advance and ensure a steady, consistent presence across all channels
Work directly with the leadership team to align social media activity with organizational priorities, campaigns, and announcements
Reporting and Strategy:
Track key performance metrics across all platforms including follower growth, engagement rate, reach, and campaign performance
Provide regular reports to the leadership team on social media performance and make data-informed recommendations for improvement
Stay current with social media trends, platform algorithm changes, and best practices in nonprofit and animal welfare digital communications
REQUIREMENTS
Essential:
Minimum 2 years of experience managing social media accounts professionally, preferably for a nonprofit, animal welfare organization, or cause-driven brand
Proven ability to create visually compelling and emotionally engaging content that drives real audience action
Strong writing skills with a natural ability to match brand voice and write in a warm, human, and conversational tone
Comfortable working independently and managing your own content calendar without day-to-day supervision
Proficiency with LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram including their content formats, algorithms, and best practices
Experience with basic photo editing and graphic design tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or similar
Reliable high-speed internet and a professional home working environment
Genuine passion for animal welfare and the Pets Sanctuary mission
Desirable:
Experience with short-form video creation and editing for Instagram Reels or Facebook video
Familiarity with social media scheduling tools such as Buffer, Hootsuite, or Later
Experience running paid social media advertising campaigns
Background in nonprofit communications, fundraising campaigns, or cause marketing
Located in Colorado, which makes occasional in-person collaboration with the leadership team possible when needed, though this is not a requirement
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary of $50,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Fully remote position with flexible working hours
Direct collaboration with the Pets Sanctuary founding team
The creative freedom to build and shape the digital voice of a growing nonprofit from the ground up
